Heh you wait until the hype for Gran Turismo starts building next year. Gran Turismo will likely sell 15million+ on PS3.

Marketing will be huge, easily 30 million install base by the time it releases WW. Once it finally is released WW all totals for the week are released, 3 million is an easy number to achieve. I say this because of the long wait, the marketing which will occur, and the fact that 3 million will only be 10% of the install base. I don't normally buy games in their first week of release, but this one I'm definitely going to jump on. I cannot wait.

It will have to sell close to 1.8m in others alone to do 3m i a week. Because i don't see GT5 in NA & Japan selling more then 1.2m combined week one.

Please gt is Sony biggest frachise I a.k.a bigger than mw2 on playstation that is, so yes if it has a worldwide at the same time that is it will murder mw2 sales easily (that's the ps3 version sales of course)

MW2 is looking to outsell every single last generation game.

The thing is that GT has very long legs kind of like Nintendo games. I dont know if the first week sales will be as big as MW. But its not impossibe. I think that GT5 will have bigger LTD much bigger then MW2 on PS3. And it could even outsell MW2 on all platforms LTD its possible If MW2 will sell about 14 Mio and GT5 will be as big as GT3. But if it really beats MW2 It will be a long time GT4 sells still and is about to break the 11 Mio mark. I dont expect GT5 to beat MW2 for PS3 first week sales but I hope it will

Well I don't think 3 million for a first week is that plausible but hey I've seen stranger things. More realistically is the 1.5-2.5 million range.

As for MW2 level, the difference is how fluently this game was able to capture a wide scale range of gamers from casual, mainstream, hobbyist, and of course your long time loyal users. Other than Nintendo franchises there is really not many others on this level... aside from GTA which is able to do something quite similar. And even with Nintendo normally it can't polarize that many people on the first week to pick it up although gets more in the long run.

So using MW2 as the case when it clearly isn't the case is well illogical.

gt5 is a huge selling game that sells well over time, but saying that it could be different for GT5, first GT on ps3 and there is a alck of good racers out on the ps3. it could do 3 million week 1.
