And I agree with you completely that people fighting over console exclusive/pure exclusive discussions get out of hand. I do feel however, that people bring up silly arguments by saying "We're gonna talk about sales but only for HD" when in fact it should be all around. I don't think it has been that predominantely as it was a while back but there's definitely a cycle when it comes to types of arguments. So if we can define the idea of of Exclusive / Console Exclusive we should also define console sales and start ignoring the argument of "HD sales." See what I mean?

But we don't force people to not talk about console exclusives, we just want them to define it properly.  If people want to talk about HD console sales they have defined it properly and therefore you have no stance to complain unless you just direly need to insert how the Wii is beating both.

OK heres the thing. The Wii has done great this generation, its winning by a huge margin, and everyone on this site can see that. Therefore, there really isn't much to talk about as far as a 'sales battle' goes, for the foreseeable future its won. At the same time, the PS3 and 360 have been in a closely fought sales battle for second place, so naturally that generates the majority of the sales related discussion. So for a gaming website like VGChartz with a sales focus, why should every member who posts anything about any game or console sales have to quantify it against the Wii or its software. To satisfy your fanboyism?

Why do you people even care?

If someone says a game is exclusive, it makes you soooooooo mad you want them banned?

If people don't include the Wii in their little war, it makes you soooooooo mad you want that person banned too?

I say get a freakin life already.

It's not perception. While the Wii does have some good quality harcore games, the big ticket items on the system are the following four titles:

1. Wii sports

2. Wii fit

3. Wii play

4. Mario kart

None of these games are hardcore in the slightest, and appeal to the type of audience i was talking about.  I can't honestly say why you have gone from PS1, PS2 and not gone onto a PS3 or X360 as i don't know you. But perhaps you liked your N64 more than the Playstations and prefered mario, smash bro's, etc..

Either way there is definitely two very good reasons not to compare the Wii to the X360 or the PS3.  And that is:

1. Different target audience

2. Wii has almost the same market share as X360 & PS3 combined so there really is not competition.

3. Dot points make me feel big in the pants ;)

the only reason i say exclude the wii from the conversation is it has already won, whats the fun in arguing there. we can argue about which one is winning 360 and the ps3. its not that we dont (or i guess i think ) cause its not HD its because its not the interesting topic.

^^^this is true. people are discussing other people's opinions and thoughts, people have different opinions. that's just the way the world works.

As goddog said. It's boring if you bring the Wii into the discussion. It's clear it has wiped the lfoor with the other too, meanwhile the PS3 and the 360 an continue to duke it out as they see fit and make for interesting flaming of each other.

Forge the Wii, PS3, 360, PSP and DS. We all know the real winner is the Dreamcast*.




*If we assume that no console that was released after it exists.
