Forums - Nintendo - EA on the psychology and tastes of the Wii gamer

Getting a stealth release nonetheless, though, showing where EA's confidence levels are (which is only how it works, of course, the more sales you think it will have, the more you advertise it)

Exactly. While I'm seeing loads of NFS: Shift TV ads, I have yet to see one for Nitro.

And while Nitro looks interesting, I can't shake the feeling that there are somethings missing/unfinished that would make the game really good. I think EA should've invested a bit more money into it's developement.

This could be interesting. I would love to have something besides MKWii to race on the Wii.

there are quite a few games out already.

This thing that third parties study Wii gamers, and talk about them, like documentarists do about rare and curious animals, never stops making me laugh.
Well, it's anyway a step above old windbag state TV journalists when they talk about "youngsters" like they belonged to another species...

From the reviews it look like they succeeded. Reviewer say it's a lot of fun to play with a friend which is what the Wii is all about. I've been wanting a Burnout style game for Wii since it launched. I have Burnout Paradise but I much prefered the PS2 Burnouts to that one and it doesn't even come with multi-player which was a real letdown.

Tell me about it. Once I heard that Burnout Paradise didn't have local multiplayer, I ignored it completely. The vast majority of my play time with Burnout and Burnout Revenge was splitscreen.

OT: He pretty much says that they are trying to give it enough depth to make it fun to play alone (during "me time") while making it accessible and fun to play during social gaming sessions. Seems simple enough, I wonder if this Nitro game is any good.

Nitro has the right idea. Too bad EA screwed up again though: lack of tracks, bad controls, bad camera and no online multiplayer. That makes it about as appealing as that MySims racer.

^How the hell did they manage to screw up the camera in a racing game? xD

I LOVE ICELAND!

It lowers down when you nitro so the car blocks your vision.

Rookie mistake. A bumper view wouldn't have been difficult to add...

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I think he means good racers. Those are fewer on the Wii, unfortunately.

lol, EA is so clueless. This is Madden Wii all over again, meanwhile they ignore how Tiger Woods Wii became to top SKU...
