Forums - Sony - David Cage: Heavy Rain is a System SELLER for PS3

Heavy Rain a PS3 seller says David Cage

Submitted by Stephen Ebert on November 4, 2009 – 1:37 pm5 Comments

Quantic Dreams boss and Heavy Rain director David Cage believes that Heavy Rain is already convincing gamers to purchase a PS3.

Chatting about the narrative-driven title Cage said that the buzz on the Internet forums is that Heavy Rain will help shift a few PS3 consoles.

“This experience should be available exclusively on PlayStation 3, and we want people to buy a PlayStation 3 because of Heavy Rain”, he told IGN.

“We’re really happy at the moment - and I hope it’s going to last – that when we go onto forums we find people watching the trailers and stuff and saying ‘this is the game that’s going to make me buy a PlayStation 3′”, he added.

He compared the game (inevitably) to Farenheit, saying that Heavy Rain is “really Fahrenheit with more experience, more maturity and probably a better vision and understanding of how this type of experience can be created.”

Cage earlier announced that the game will be getting a pre-launch demo.

It may be, afetr all who thought Uncharted 2 would sell PS3's

SONY should market it

but if I were him, I wouldn't look at internet hype that much

Well I think it does appeal to a different kind of audience than the standard shooter/rpg gamers.

hmm...i dont think this will move much systems...but lets see...its all on Sony with some huge marketing everything is possible!

but Sony now got enough games that will move systems like FF XIII (in Japan),God Of War 3 and MAG (in the US) and GT5 (especially in Europe)

I doubt it will move many systems, but for those who find the game as fascinating and intriguing as some people I know (on this forum mostly, myself included ), then I can fully understand why some would buy a PS3 with Heavy Rain as the main reason.

Why is everybody saying this game is going to flop?
I bet it sells more than the 360 version of FFXIII.

Judging by past work like Indigo Prophecy, it deserves to be a system seller. I'm sure it'll be some sort of system seller.

+1

I don't think he expects to move many systems, but to him, if it does move some, he's happy.

And I agree

i just hope it doesn't suck like Indigo prophecy...

at the ending.

The game was awesome until those fucking aliens showed up.

Cage already said that that was due to a lack of development time, and so the ending had to be rushed.

Not so with Heavy Rain
