Is New Super Mario Bros. for DS the pinnacle experience for that system?

Yes. It is. Because the DS its a portable system. NSMB for the DS is fast, fun, simple, great. Everything a portable game should be.

But for a home console? S t e p   b a c k w a r d

I want to play the game as much as the next guy, but we gotta be real here: this aint a hardcore triple A offering for the holidays. Nintendo can make mistakes, and here´s another one.

A lot.

But the release date is coming fast and we will see if i was right

But take note: the game will sell kinda well, less than Galaxy, more than Wii music. But more importantly, it will fail at regain momentum for the Wii.

Nobody will buy a new wii to play the game. Aint moving a single new unit.

Quoted for later.

I'm not gonna tell you you're wrong, seeing as the game hasn't even come out yet (that would be silly of me), but me-sa thinks it's gonna do pretty darn well. Yeah yeah, I know... my avatar, but seriously! It'll do (better than) fine!

^you are out of your mind. The game will sell 16 million minimum.

Lol! Good one!

Industy analist michael patcher thinks the game will do pretty well too.

I dont. I can see the regular joe seeing this game as a smaller effort.

We will indeed.

Is it possible this game won't be the greatest 2D Mario ever, sure, but that's not really saying much. it could still be a great game.  Furthermore, I really have so little confidence in IGN these days that I take that comment with a grain of salt

As for this game not outselling Galaxy, I think it's unlikely and as for it not moving hardware, it's going to be impossible to tell because any boost it may or may not provide is going to get lost in the general holiday sales madness.

is wii play the pinnacle sistem experience? but it sold a lot

I think it will be one hell of a 2D mario game. Probably the greatest. I just dont think it will mean a lot to the general public.

But you´re right about the holiday madness stuff. It will be difficult to measure, at least in the december-january time frame, if the game is a sales booster for the system itself.

We will have to see it on the long run. But i cant see a normal guy saying "yeah, im gonna buy this Wii system because it has a pretty 2d mario"

ya... but I can see a dad or a soccer mom saying "yeah, im gonna buy this Wii system because it has a pretty 2d mario".

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
