Forums - Gaming - IGN Dragon Age Origins REview -- 9.2 (AMAZING DEPTH)!! ---- UK Review

Closing Comments
Bioware’s achievements in all this are incredible. It cannot be stressed enough at the depth of the universe they have conjured. Every corner you look, there is a sense of age, of something old. Entire mythologies for multiple cultures have been brewed up, entire religions mapped out in their own belief systems, history that stretches back hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Cities look lived in, worn – majestic and squalid places that spill with times gone by and a sense of place. The castles look like they have been there for centuries, and truly, there is an uncertain sense that they have been. That Ferelden and its inhabitants were waiting patiently in the wings for all this time, waiting for their chance to shine. Well, like the Grey Wardens, their time has come. Let us unite then, and in the words of an old friend: We shall show those cursed Darkspawn our hearts – and then show them theirs.

10 Presentation
It’s clear that Bioware has created a universe that they find themselves effortlessly comfortable with. Everything has a purpose, a history, a sense of cultural identity.
8.0 Graphics
If you want to be a pain about it, you could say that it’s not as shiny as a lot of current-gen games. Not such a bad thing, really.
8.5 Sound
Emotionally resonant performances the leads stand side by side with even the common folk, and the sweeping orchestral score is always at hand to provide grandeur.
9.0 Gameplay
This linear RPG that isn’t really linear at all - dialogue choices and your actions govern the fate of everything, and the combat is deeply gratifying, thinking-cap stuff.
10 Lasting Appeal
Words like epic don't do it justice.
9.2
Outstanding
OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

Awesome!

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

meh...I don't think I can do another action RPG before Mass Effect 2. Borderlands filled that void nicely...

Sounds like it really could match up to its big brother.

Cant wait.

Clearly a Bioware game.

I know...but the whole leveling up is the main gameplay mechanic. I'm sure it will be a wondrful game, but there is just so much of grindinf one can do in a span of 3 months... :)

lol...why? I don't see what IGN has done to give them credibility over IGN UK...both are just opinions playing a game.

@disolitude

you need to grind in WRPG's??

I never had to grind in KOTOR, Oblivion or any of those
