According to wiki, GTA IV made $500m first week {revenue} and sold about 6m copies. Modern Warfare 2 won't need to sell so many copies as it has more expensive and numerous CEs

I think this helps to prove why Wiki info needs to be double-checked. IF you were to align all the launches of GTA 4, yes, it would come to almost 6 million copies. However, at $60/copy, that would be $360 million. If this supposedly broke $500m, where's the other $140m?

Another poster has already broken down the number for $60 copies at just over 8 million. Even if the $80 version was the average sale, it would still need to break 6 million. Like I said before, I can see it for the quarter, but not the first week.

I think this game will easily move 5 million units in the first week. According to the U.S. preorders, you have almost 2.4 million copies reserved for just the 360 and PS3...With two weeks still to go. 8 million copies might be a little optimistic but between 6-7 million across all platforms is possible.
