Nintendo has to outsource games in order to keep up. They are much much smaller than Sony and even with outsourcing games it will be difficult to keep with Sony now theve got theve got geared up. just this gen weve had many great outsourced game sincluding punchout and batallion wars 2.

With pilotwings, it seems nintendo dropped out beforehand in case factor 5 used nintendo's money to pay off their debts instea dof development. pilotwings is being turned into a new IP for a new publisher. However i believe that RS4 is still coming and that Lucasarts are still the publisher

This rumor seems to change every day. First it was reported that Nintendo was sitting of a finished copy of Pilotwings and Lucas Arts was sitting on a finished copy of Rogue Squadron. Now, apparently the Lucas Arts game was canceled with the port of Brutal Legend. At least the rumors seem to get on thing right and that is a port of Brutal Legend was canceled for Wii.

Secondly, Factor 5 is being sued by some of its former employees. If this rumor is actually true and Nintendo does have a finished Pilotwings game. It would also be part of the lawsuit and Nintendo would have to wait until the Lawsuit was settled before the game is released.

I really don't believe this rumor.

1) Factor 5 hasn't made a good game in a long time. Heck, since 2003, their last big stinker (Rogue Squadron: Rebel Strike), they've only produced 1 game (Lair). All their other projects they have been working on have either been pulled or canceled. I can't imagine Nintendo trusting them with one of their major titles seeing as how they are dropping most of their deals with other developers who aren't producing positive results.

2) These rumors come out all the time from 'ex-employees' or 'inside sources' and mostly get proven false.

3) That 'asset' picture looks completely fake. Like a still from an early 1990s PC title.

This is why I love Nintendo. They don't put out shit. They may risk themselves on questionable games, wii music anyone, but it will work and play terrific.

i loved pilotwings on the n64

actually star fox was originally a collaboration between argonaut and nintendo as well,
frankly star fox for the wii would have been perfect if nintendo did the level design and factor 5 the graphics engine
