Can someone explain Grind to me? Because i liked leveling up and to me this is bad news.

I think this is great. I LOVED the sphere grid in FFX so I'll love this! To me, this is still leveling up, just in another fashion. You can still grind and such. It just works with smaller amounts at a time and it's not all the stats at once. You have the freedom of customizing the characters like you want. It's great!

Grinding means fightning loads & loads of battles to gain more levels & becoem more powerful

in Pokemon if you got one of your pokemon upto to lvl 100 that was grinding

If you grind you fight battles on PURPOSE

If you don't grind you just fight battles that come your way & no more than that

I find JRPG's VERY hard to finish without "some" grinding

on the other hand khuutra has finished JRPG's without grinding at all.

Really? Hard to finish without grinding? I'm surprised at that statement, mainly since I believe you stick to final fantasy games.

Anyways Hype for me went down, I hated Sphere Grid.

@Acevil

in FFX your right, I didn't really need to grind much....but at before a few bosses I decided to grind to get that magic that was just a few spheres away....& so on.

in FF7 I didn't need to grind at all, maybe some minor grinding.

BUT FF12 scarred me in terms of grinding....I had to GRIND A LOT in it.....I never used the gambits properly, I was stupid & tried to control all the characters in a turn based way (I dunno I never felt it was "correct" to use the gambits)....it was a terrible experience, I don't think I played the game in the way it should be played.

In Pokemon I did grind LOTS

Thx for the explanation. To tell the truth i don´t anticipate the game that much like before.

In pokemon, I only grind so my Pokemon are balanced to each other. It is possible to overrig one pokemon or two, like many do, and beat the game.

You know, I'm a fan of the sphere grid and all... but I prefer characters with unique skills. It gives you a reason to try all the characters out.

When I was done playing FFX, everyone was absolutely the same except for the Overdrives and Yuna's Summons. Not fun.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

Did you do a lot of grinding? I like characters with unique skills as well and that was part of the reason I liked the Sphere Grid so much. The only character that didn't have a unique section of the sphere grid was Kihmari. Even after major grinding, I only managed to run my characters through two sections of the grid. That was after I had beaten the game and went back to do some of the extra side quests. Part of the reason, I hate FFVII so much is the lack of unique character skill sets due to materia. The Sphere Grid preserves character individuality for the most part. I just hope this Crystalium Growth System has more variety than the license board in FFXII, by the time you get half way through FFXII your characters become identical.

to johann & you

_____

Well its more like the sphere grid than that awful license board.

& WE STILL don't know if you can learn abilities other characters can learn, we don't know if there are "locks" that make you go onto another characters path on the sphere grid (like in FF10)

maybe they won't have things like that, maybe each crsytallium growth thing will be unique to each character, except with different routes you can go on it

who knows TBH
