Great device right there....How i know the man will kill the women? Well simple, if your prepared to rape someone your prepared to do anything. |
Spoken like someone who has never been kicked in the crotch. The point behind the pain-causing devices is that the pain they cause is supposed to be incapacitating, so that the victim has time to run away.
But would they actually perform this function? I don't know. They don't target what really hurts; getting kicked in that particular spot is certainly unpleasant, but it doesn't generate the doubled-over, roll-on-the-ground or beat-your-head-on-the-floor-to-knock-yourself-out (I saw this last one during a fencing match, due to a stray shot on a guy who wasn't wearing a cup; no, I didn't do it) response that people typically think of. To get that response you've got to aim just a bit lower, and these types of devices can't do that.
But I suspect that's not really the point of the one with the teeth. It doesn't look like it would hurt all that much until the attacker tried to take it off. The point is less about causing pain and more about marking the attacker for later identification. But someone marked in this way would probably panic, and that's where the risk comes in; they might run away (good), but they might instead kill the victim (very bad).
Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
