The correct answer is the Ocarina of Time. This is fact.

I loved fighting Goht with him, myself. Mostly because it turned that battle into something totally different than what the developers intended, and it was fun as hell fighting it that way, since apparently Goht can turn around, so you wouldn't know which way he was coming, and just hear the thunder of hooves.

Ha, I used to do that myself. It's a shame Twinmold was virtually unbeatable as the Fierce Diety. Of course, the other bosses going down in seconds wasn't much better...

As for a "real" item... The clawshots or boomerang would probably be my picks. Thinking about it, it's really quite amazing how useful the latter has been in the last few games.

Ball and Chain and Spinner.

Spinner fight was awesome.

I'm the only person on the planet who will say this, but... iron boots. They were so damn simple, yet so incredibly useful.

Need to move against the current of a river? Iron boots.

Need to resist gale force winds? Iron boots.

Need to walk up a magnetic wall? Boots... made of iron.

Need to wrestle a goron? Iron boots have you covered.

Want to impress Zelda on a date? I suggest you wear your iron boots. You know what they say about a guy with big shoes.
