That pretty much sums this up.
I'm still leaning on which system to buy. A system with blu-ray and versions of Epic Mickey, Mario Galaxy, Metroid: Other M, the next Zelda, and KH3 with graphics as good as they could be on PS3 or 360 would get my vote.
If this were true I would have to say it's a big mistake.
Do we really think they are going to announce a system a month before it's release? Where's the software going to come from? Nintendo is all about hardware facilitating software and it's going to release a system without any significant opportunity to showcase it's new software....I don't think so.
Most likely, they would try to keep all information on it under wraps until E3 2010, but they would probably unveil it then. Way to blow Natal out of the water.
I doubt a new wii will launch before DQX gets a chance to launch on it in japan, that and it is so damn profitable they really have no reason to launch another one only 4 years into the cycle of the fastest selling consolve ever!

Quite a few people that comment on Epic Mickey say that the game's graphics aren't up to par with the original artwork for the game. A more powerful system could more easily approximate the original artwork.
Nintendo has the casual fanbase with games like Wii Fit and Wii Sports. If they want to attract more than 50%, they will need a more powerful console capable of putting out the same kind of graphics that the other consoles can and games like FFXIII, Fallout 3, Bayonetta, etc.
So, why not solve this problem by putting out a newer console that is fully backwards compatable with all those older casual games that also has the graphical power, tech, and games to attract the hd crowd away from PS3 and 360?
At some point in time, I think Nintendo has had to wonder about how they could be doing even better with Modern Warfare 2, for instance, on their system along with their other offerings.
Maybe this can shake things up.
Blogs will post articles with titles like "Gone Already? How can the wii be ending if it never started?"

"- A scheme will be available in which it is possible to trade in the original Wii for a cheaper price on the new Wii 2. "
Who even do this kind of things?? Electronics are worth shit 2nd hand, it would be way way, way easier and cheaper to just lower the sale price than have all this junk shipped and dealt with, and they need to do this in a green way too. Ludicrous.

Agreed. Furthermore, if you were to pick the company least likely to do this it would be......Nintendo. They will always try to make as much profit as possible at every turn.
Unless............ the new system is actually made from several Wii's ducktaped together and then they can use the traded in Wii's to make Wii2:P
