The average person has never been shot at and would not remain calm and think quickly when the shooting starts.

For me, I'd react by making sure my family is out of harm's way. Next? I'm going to get help. I am not going to be the hero and try and fight them. No way. I'm getting the hell out of dodge.

Completely understandable, but from what I remember, the guy was perfectly fine hiding behind the corner with the wounded person, so he grabs the wounded person and starts pulling him right out into the -middle- of the shooting area where the terrorists are. He's walking almost directly towards the terrorists until the player shoots him and he dies.

That wasn't very smart. If you're going to move, move away from the shooters.

That's precisely the problem when it comes to the media and politicians. I don't have a problem with what I saw because I can understand it as part of a story, but people who think video games are only for kids are going to freak.

From what it seems, you're depicting a cold blooded killer in that scene who's probably the main bad guy you'll be working to defeat throughout the rest of the game. Thus, it's establishing who they are and why you'll want to stop them as whatever character(s) you play as.

Yeah, that is what added the eeriness. Watching the wounded try to pull overs out of harm's way and then, the ones crawling or limping - wow. I was shocked and really wonder where video games are going.

I am going to save my judgment until the final game hits. I will play the stage, shoot at objects but won't shoot anyone unless I am shot at. Period.
