Forums - Nintendo - Why Zelda Wii will be the best ever! (Malstrom inspired)

I'm just talking about graphics here. Sure the wii is not a lot more powerful then the GC, but good games on the wii still look a lot better then on the gc.

Compare zelda:tp with monster hunter 3. I think that's a great difference. But then again I've never really cared all that much about graphics. Design art is the most important thing graphics wise imo.

And before you quote me, I do know that wii made the smallest graphical jump this gen. I'm not an idiot.

We all know Wii is more powerful than the GameCube, but imho it hasn't reached it's potential yet. Mario Galaxy is one of the very few games that looks like it really took advantage of the hardware, MP3 being another one.

Still, imho, it could be far better, and I think most developers are just being lazy, Nintendo themselves included. I mean, look at some of the amazing looking games the good old 'Cube gave us, like Rogue Squadron 2 & 3, Starfox Adventures. Those games are ancient by now, but still beat the crap out of 99.99% of all Wii games, graphically speaking.

Also, I think pretty much all those ideas PhalanxCO offered for a new Zelda would be pretty awesome. :) The whole filled-up overworld, more towns, more NPC's, more freedom-type of things.

I think you're misunderstanding me.  I'm not trying to downplay the Wii's graphics.  I'm saying it's far more capable than the GCN and that's why TP has "ugly graphics" compared to MH3.  I'm agreeing with you.

@Cheebee:

Thx, I'd really like to see some more life in the overworld.  It's always been rather barren outside a few towns.  Another idea I thought of was after defeating the dungeon boss, you get a piece of an item.  Once you have all the pieces, it becomes the weapon you need to defeat the final boss (along with the Master Sword obviously).  Perhaps you can even use it along the way as an item, but it's true power isn't available until you have all the pieces.  We've already collected Triforce shards, maidens, medalions, pearls, fused shadow pieces and mirror shards.  Why not something that can actually be used by the player?

Oh, I didn't misunderstand you, I'm agreeing with you as well, but I wanted to explain my earlier post a little better :)

I wasn't thinking you were down playing the wii's graphics :)

The next zelda HAS to change the formula for me to like it

they need to reinvent the genre like they almost did every generation

*cracks open profile, looks in collection*

Go to your room.

Seriously though, speaking seriously:

Phantom Hourglass gives me hope. The Temple of the Ocean King was like a stopgap between the dungeons and the overworld, which was very interesting...

It was interesting but there is one problem with Phantom Hourglass, <flamebait>It sucked balls</flamebait>

If Zelda Wii is anything like PH, I will not buy it.

Yep, yep... let's look at it this way.

Pit>Marth
Pit>> Ike!
Pit>>>>>>>>>>>Roy

Lyndis is cool though I'd have preffered her over Marth and they should of kept Roy and included Ike...

Except Pit was in 2 games. A NES game that some fanboys loved. And a GameBoy game that no one cared about.

Nintendo decided Pit was a shitty character after that and didn't make any more games starring him.
