IMHO the 360 has the best library. Definatly not for 2009 but overall it wins by a mile. And 2010 is only going to add to it. 360 has the strongest 2010 lineup of all 3 consoles.

The sad thing, Khuutra, is that the only thing you're going to get is posts like this and people deliberately annoying you.

Is that what you intended?

This is one of those Generation when it's really close.

@Monti

your point was more valid in 2007 and maybe 2008, The PS3 and 360 shares 90% of the games now and the PS3 has clearly increased their exclusives games. And yes, I know it's your opinion.

The 360 still has a wider range of exclusives as well as several multiplatform games that the PS3 doesn't. And yes, it is my opinion. I still love the PS3 though, I just need more games for it.

And I think you have yourself to blame for that?

I can't see why anyone would has as little games for each console as you do. Surely there has to be more than 2 PS3 games you want to play.

Then PS2 gets points deducted because of having a lot of shovelware as well?

Yes.

Although PS2 had more than enough quality to make up for all the shovelware it recieved.

Yes, but on average the PS2 still had the worst library of the four consoles last gen going by Metacritic.

Rol don't do this, you know what evil this may unleash

I am just stating a fact, even if it is absolutely useless.

@psrock: Yes, I am sure. Some website once had a comparison of Metacritic scores between 6th and 7th gen consoles and the PS2 and Wii had the lowest averages of their generation. Obviously because they attracted the most shovelware due to their popularity. If you consider that many crappy games aren't even reviewed at all, it would even get worse for those consoles.

You missed out one thing though

The PS2 had 63 games with over 90 aveg, which was more than the xbox and Cube put togheter. I think they made up beautifully for those shovelwares.

Moving on.

But the existence of Little Britain: The Videogame completely ruined my enjoyment of Shadow of the Colossus.

I've actually gotten quite a few nice posts out of this. For reference, see Torillian or Rainbird.

Alright.

No, not at all. He could have said:

And I would be equally annoyed.

They're good people, yes.

I am tempted to reply properly, but your avatar puts me in a bad mood.

PS2

I prefer the 360 because it has the majority of high quality games. Brilliant exclusives, exciting PC/360 games and of course phenomenal multiplat games.

I would say that the PS3 has more good 1st/2nd party exclusives though.

As for the Wii I don't like most of their 3rd party games & exclusives. I said games, cause we all know that multiplat games can vary a lot in quality on the Wii (lazy ports or the controls simply don't work for certain type of games).
The only games I would really consider to buy a Wii for are SMG, SSBB (although I'm not so impressed anymore) and maybe NSMB Wii.

I'm going with the 360 and here's why. I'm a pretty big fan of RPGs (particularly of the western variety) and FPSs. The 360 just provides a lot of quality titles from these two genres, and its library as a whole, is very diverse, especially when you have Rare as a first party developer.

I have played Wii Sports and Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii, and would probably own one if it weren't for the lack of time that I have.

The only Sony franchise I'm really interested in is God of War. When Final Fantasy and Grand Theft Auto were exclusives, buying a PS2 was more compelling than buying a PS3 is now since they've both gone multiplat.
