Forums - Nintendo - Ignition Entertainment happy with Muramasa: The Demon Blade sales

The sales numbers for September for Muramasa are in the ball park of 35K… however we all know NPD numbers can be roughly 15-20% off of actual sell through.

The sales numbers are in line with expectations and we’re happy with how it’s performing to date. We are quite confidant that Muramasa will be a revered cult classic like its sister property Odin Sphere. We’re still seeing positive reviews pouring in, and expect sales to be strong through the holiday season. – Melody Frieda, Ignition Entertainment Marketing Director

There. Now i don't want to hear any of this nonsense about how Muramasa bombed.

How technical is your game?

Around the Network

If most third parties are just like Marvelous, Xseed, ignition, D3, majesco, etc... gaming could take us long way but we're stucked with Konami, CAPCOM, EA, Ubisoft, Activison, etc... and making gaming pound to the ground with endless milking and hype and high production values. Making people lost jobs if a game didnt sell a million.

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

it looked overtracked unfortunately

IT BOMBED!

There you go. Might get it once it comes to the old world.

I think it will do well over the holidays. Let's go Muramasa!

Now i wonder how many threads there will be proclaiming that Muramasa didn't bomb?

@kopstudent89

IF (big IF) Ignition is right and NPD is undertracking the game:

35k * 1.2 = 42k

This is for USA only. Considering Canada, Mexico and the other markets, possibly:

42 * 1.2 = 50,4k

There are big IFs here, but VGCharts may be right on this.

^Click on cards to level'em up!!!^ =D

I still havent bought my copy. i will buy it new after mario and in between final fantasy cb

Nobody stated that the game bomb... it deffinatly didnt have a massive development budget so the sales its getting should be more then enough to cover IMO the dev costs

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

NPD can be 15-20% off?

Why does ioi adjust to NPD numbers then?
