Nintendo's been messing up lately with rehashing the original Marios. First Yoshi dissolves in water, then starman is called rainbow star, after that the fire flower has a time limit, now Yoshi disappears at the end of the level.

That stinks, but the reason for this is probably because Nintendo has designed some levels specifically around Yoshi, and other more challenging levels designed without Yoshi's assistance in mind, so therefore Nintendo doesn't want players simply picking up Yoshi in an earlier easy stage and then traveling to a tougher stage later in the game a la SMW in order to have a bit of an advantage.
I remember constantly going back to the secret area in Donut Plains just to stock up on power-ups and get Yoshi and then heading back to the tough as nails Special stages on Star Road... good times!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

That's true Yoshi did break the gameplay of a lot of levels but still they could just make Mario dismount Yoshi like in the Ghost Houses and Lava Fortress levels in Mario World. They don't have to make it so you have to get him every time in each level.
NOOOOOOOOO WHYYYYY!!!!!
SUper Mario World pwnd all!
Just make it like that again please, don't take ma yoshi from me!

That was one of the best part's about SMW. Very easy to get a lot of lives that way too.

I really hated that, I guess he can't swim and they didn't want him to sink down and slowly die.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

i had a feeling we couldn't keep him but hoped we could. that's okay though, the game will still be awesome
It's all okay. Having Yoshi everywhere is just too easy.
Break out the gameshark! (Do those even exist anymore?)
I was a little disappointed when I saw Mario jump off of Yoshi at the end of a level in a video I saw a few days ago. But I guess it makes the game harder which is nice.
