The only way an install would benefit a game like this is if you installed the WHOLE game on the hard drive excluding the FMV videos. Other games have installs for loading the game quickly because the important asssets that get reused all the time are on the hard drive. So 3d fighters for example where the characterstage modelstextures can be realisticlly installed because they don't take much space. Talk about ignorance. |
There are plenty of extremely linear games which have huge installs on PS3, mostly from Capcom. Devil May Cry 4. RE5.
Final Fantasy games are known for being extremely large. Several discs on both PS1 and PS2. Furthermore, FF13 is a multiplat game. It doesn't have the optimisation that exclusives get.
Basically, most developers would have been lazy and included some sort of install. SE didn't.
