Okay so I got this game today (was a birthday present) and played quite a bit.
Mostly singleplayer but also a short splitscreen co-op session.

I really like the game although it definitely has its flaws.
- The game is sometimes VERY hard. The first "boss" will give you a headache. Many overpowered enemies. Be sure to have a higher level than them or you're finished.
- respawning enemies after you left an area. You will face them constantly
- almost no friendly NPCs. The area looks more dead than in Fallout 3....
- everytime you finish a quest you have to go back to that place where you accepted the quest. MEH....
- Action skill is pretty useless (at least at the beginning)

The selection of weapons is truly awesome and it's fun to get the best. Although that can become a problem in co-op.

I'm currently level 16 btw. :)

Happy birthday and great impressions :)

in other words this game is a shooter , much like Resistance 2

Except you level, you loot stuff and equip gear and there are classes and bosses and leveling and talent trees (like wow) and critical strike chances and stats and random loot and enemies and scaling difficulty.

i don't know about this game, seems too much of a shooter than an RPG. it isn't "deep" enough.

What I have seen the game being spun is that while Fallout 3 falls on the RPG side more than the FPS side, Borderlands falls more on the FPS side than the RPG side.  Both games have elements of the other, just one side favors the other more.

I just hope the game features parts of the world that are randomly generated, like in Diablo.

Enemies, loot and objects in the field (towers, caves, bunkers) are randomly generated.

you do earn EXP and level up your classes , there is also bosses in R2, thats why i made the comparision.

i know this is a deeper game since it got the looting and costumizble weapons.

Yeah I meant it's not just a shooter, the co-op mode in R2 has rpg elements this is more of a hybrid.

yeah what I find kinda weird is that after you've opened a weapon crate for example you can basically save the game, quit and load it again and there will be new weapons in there.

Same goes for all items in objects.

Maybe it's even enough to just load the area. Not sure here though.

I'm not sure if I like that or not. It's just... well like I said: weird

Also even the first boss respawns which is kinda funny IMO. Again I guess that's true for all bosses, but I only saw him dying twice
