Forest Gump
Overall it would be the 1988 Japanese Anime from Studio Ghibli - My Neighbor Totoro. A fantastic film that I saw totally by accident.
Closely followed by Blade Runner which I believe to be the greatest achievement in western cinema and a worryingly accurate prediction of the future.
ATM, I'm feeling like either Who Framed Roger Rabbit or A Hard Day's Night.

I love my Neighbour Totoro too, and like you I saw it totally by accident.
I saw it during Channels 4's studio Ghibli season they had about three/four years ago. I got up for university switched the TV on and it was just starting. It took my attention immediately and I sat and watched it all, I then realised that I had been so engrossed that I had missed my lecture...
The joys of being an undergraduate student lol.

For me..it's THE TRUMAN SHOW!
An absolutely amazing film. I've watched it so many times, yet still I love it.
Also, Bruce Almighty, Casino Royale, Liar Liar and Up are fantastic.
The Matrix, Blade Runner, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, Star Trek First Contact, Original Star Wars Trilogy and Spirited Away would all be up there, don't know if I have an overall favourite though, hell im gonna add more to my shortlist: Goldeneye, Die Hard (1), The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Princess Mononoke, The Departed and more I can't think of right now, don't watch many films tbh, but I like alot of them.
