@Montana - I guess we disagree on this one, it's a matter of taste I suppose.
But if the game had the name "Final Fantasy" it would be above 85 on metacritic right now.

Please stop this. Final Fantasy does not give extra points. I figured people would have shut up about that by time being that Persona 3 and 4 were rated just as highly.

but thats where he belongs, the drop in quality of his games after he left square has been astounding! |
Actually it's the other way around. The quality of Square's games dropped considerably after Sakaguchi left:
GameFAQs reader review average score:
Final Fantasy VII
8.9 (149 reviews)
Final Fantasy VIII
8.0 (109 reviews)
Final Fantasy IX
8.4 (102 reviews)
Final Fantasy X
8.8 (154 reviews)
Sakaguchi leaves SquareEnix.
Final Fantasy X-2
7.6 (108 reviews)
Final Fantasy XII
7.4 (173 reviews)
Sakaguchi makes his first and so far only FF style game:
Lost Odyssey
8.0 (56 reviews)

Are you seriously using Gamefaqs reader review averages as a judge of quality on games? Do I even need to explain what's wrong with this?

I AM SICK OF IT too!
Persona 4 is proof that such mentality is wrong!
Seriously every Final Fantasy game has a polish other JRPG's can only have a wet dream about
& each one tries to push the formula in some way or another!!
Even FF12 which is "hated" by fans was adored by critics
@Luney Tune
FF12 was made by the FF Tactics team..
lets see how the traditions FF team do with FF13
so far its looking so positive!
360. Hes seen success from Lost Odyssey. You can't lie it pulled in impressive numbers for a JRPG on the 360
Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.
"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
Agreed. Do NOT use GameFAQs as some sort of standard. lol. Critics may mark out for Final Fantasy (and yes they do occasionally give great marks to other jrpgs like Persona 4) but they are more reliable than the "FF7 and FFX rocks! FFXII suxorz. Square-Enix has went downhill since they sold-out!" crowd you'll find on GameFAQs. That's just hilarious. Square's goal right from the beginning when they first formed was to generate a profit for their shareholders. That has never changed. If you own a business, that's your goal. If they really cared deeply about their customers (as opposed to their wallets), they'd be developing freeware games. The minute that you start selling your software is the minute that you "sell out."

Five bucks says this game is Microsoft related. Also Microsoft finances them for the most part.
Nintendo isn't the type to rush anyone, neither is Sony.
