Forums - Sales - Famitsu Estimates (October 2009)

Oh just 2.5 Mio+ for NSMB that will piss of the guy which sayed that FF 13 will be just 1.5 Mio because Famitsu said it. Now he has to accept that NSMB WII will be just 2.5 Mio or a little more because Famitsu said it.

Actually it says 2.5 million+, so basically they expect it to sell more than 2.5 million.

WOW

just 1 - 1.5 million LTD for FF13

& JUST 180K - 230K LTD for Tales Of Graces

WTF....Tales of graces will sell less than TOV Ps3?

Darth it might be possible since tales of graces is launching one week before final fantasy XIII.

Also for some reason or another Tales of Symphonia did better in north america. Maybe that is what Namco is counting on.

Yeah but if it would be something like 4-5 Mio they would write 4 Mio+ and not 2.5 Mio+.

But I am sure everybody who wants to see in another way will say oh its 2.5 Mio+ that means it can be 10 mio or more.

If so they could have writen 500k+ for FF 13. After Famitsu it wont be 3 or 4 or 5 Mio it will be more something like 2.5-2.8 Mio why they didnt wrote 3Mio+ ?

Also, the Wii FF launches around that time too.  The two biggest JRPGs of the year are coming out around the same time, that may hurt sales of both games.

kopstudent89,

The tales of series has been around longer than the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series has but Tales of Symphonia was the best selling tales game which sold 320k in Japan and over a million units world wide. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for the GC sold 370k in Japan and over a million units world wide. Therefore both titles are equally huge but which one performs better in the market place is always just a guess. There's no definite way to predict the actual sales of a game, there are only estimates.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

The updated numbers for Sengoku Musou 3 put it at an even lower estimate.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Well they already failed hard on both predictions for SMT: Strange Journey and Inazuma Eleven 2. I wouldn't trust these numbers anymore.
