I know that we don't know that much about project needlemouse, so this thread is not too serious, just made to be some Sega vs Nintendo fun!

How well do you think project needlemouse will do against NSMBWii?

We know that:

both are 2D platformers from a long line of sucessful 2D platformers.

Demand for high quality 2D platformers are high.

2D Sonic and 2D Mario have always sold well.

Here is what speaks for Project needlemouse:

It will release after NSMBWii, so Sonic team will have time to learn from NSMBWii

It will probably be released on 3 platforms

Sonic is cooler than Mario

here is what speaks for NSMBWii:

Mario has always greatly outsold Sonic. the Best selling Sonic game of all time, Sonic 2 sold about 6 million wile the only true 2D mario game of that generation, Super Mario World sold 20 million. the best selling Mario game, Super Mario Bros sold about 40 million! That's more than 6 times the amount Sonic 2 sold. The four Sonic games on the Megadrive Sonic, Sonic 2, sonic 3, Sonic&Knuckles COMBINED didn't outsell Super Mario World.

NSMBWii will release before project needlemouse, so it will have a sales lead.

1: I'm not incredibly serious.

To clarify, I want people to predict by what ratio NSMBWii will outsell project needlemose. If it will be the same ratio as Sonic 2:Super Mario World, or if the gap will be greater.

They really need to make a platformer featuring the both of them. All the Mario fans, and all the Sonic fans buying a single game. It could be momentous.

After the sales of the Mario & Sonic Summer Olympic game, I'm really surprised that neither Nintendo or Sega has thought about this. The possibilities are endless. Mecha Bowser anyone?
