Forums - Sales - The Official NPD September Thread (5 wks ending Oct 4, 2009, Data in 3 hrs)

TheSource said:

Guys, NPD is five weeks every March, June, September and December. This month was August 30 to October 3. We have a couple days of PSP Go numbers and Wii price cut figures in here.

How many days? I'm counting 3 for the Wii price cut but how many for the PSPGo?

Seems like the Wii and PS3 price cuts were effective, but the 360 one not as much. Was expecting a bit higher for PS3.

PS3 has a shot at outselling Wii in Japan this holiday and the 360 in the US (and worldwide).

Famitsu estimates don´t agree

NSMBwii > FFXIII

but it will be close =)

famitsu estimates have FF XIII above NSMB wii..

Famitsu has no estimate in term of how much hardware each of those will move so that argument is kinda moot........

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

OSDT, rebates and a price drop allowed 360 to stay within 150k of PS3 in NA.

Ahh Leo-J so the thread title lied to me. So we will have to see until next mouth to see how the PSP Go did.

Nevermind you lied to me.

SO DARTH I WIN!

Wow so the psp go sold horribly, unless the PSP 3000 sold like 80K for september..

@Ail

yes I know but he says FAMITSU is estimating NSBWII to sell more than FF XIII, when they estimate 800k, and for FF XIII they estimate something over a mill

I did say it has a shot didn't say it will for sure :P Plus PS3 has more room to grow in Japan than Wii does and FF XIII is the first system seller for the PS3 there

famitsu estimates have FF XIII above NSMB wii..

[PS3] Final Fantasy 13 (Square Enix) FS 830K-1.04M / TF 1.00M-1.50M

[WII] New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo) FS 610K-820K / TF 2.50M+

Which means that NSMBwii will sell more.

@Ail,

You are correct. However, when such titles hit a console, it usually drives hardware you know =P. What I meant to say was.. NSMBwii will sell more software..and therefore it (most likely) leads to higher hardware sales.
