Forums - Gaming - PES 2010 vs. FIFA 10 - Seems like PES fails again !!!

It's sad to say, but the first scores for PES 2010 are in and it's not looking good:

Note that there are only 5 reviews for PES 2010, but it's unlikely that the average score will be much better than last years iteration.

When will the glorious PES series finally return to their roots ?

aaw c'mon nobody cares about PES 2010 ?

It's like Konami substituted their whole dev team from the PS2 era with some other guys

Never heard of PES, though the pez candy dispenser comes to mind for some reason. Fifa is just the authority on soccer/football games - new contenders can't yet compete with the heavily established franchise.

Konami didn't evolve

FIFA did

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I played a copy of PES10 around my bro's house this afternoon. Game sent it early as they sometimes do. In all honesty the game is not as bad as i first feared. But it is not that great either. He is a big time PES fan and he admitted that the series is now arcade rather then simulation. Reading those reviews it would seem they agree with that. Which is a shame really as back in the day PES was the simulation game and Fifa was the arcade game. Seems the roles have well and truely reversed. It will still sell a fair bit in Japan though no doubt.

Uhm technically the FIFA series is only 2 years older than Pro Evolution Soccer

I remember we bought PES 2008, was horrible with framerate problems all over the place. Sold it within a week and got Fifa 2009....which was excellent...

I see PES hasn't been improving much the last few years according to reviews so i'll stick with Fifa for now...

Well, as a long time PES fan, this was the first gen I ever bought a FIFA game. FIFA evolved so much that even a simple match in FIFA looks like the most real football match i've ever seen. Everything is top notch, from the animations, to the ball physics, to the tactics and strategies.
I've never felt so drawn to a football game as i've had with FIFA 2010, I even created a thread about it a long time ago, but no one never answered, so I thought no one cared about FIFA either.

all i can say is your sig is cheesy

nah , i "Think" PES will sell more even though this is the case, in here people can buy a PS3 only for that game.

At least the reviews said it had improved, the problem is that they have gone so far behind in the last few years that it will be hard to catch up now without making massive changes. I still like pes 5 on the ps2 better than 09 on nexgen consoles. I havn't played 2010 yet so don't know what it's like.
