Sony = Gaunteed top quality games constantly

I know, I'm being a prick, but lair says otherwise! Honestly it is nice to see a company pay attention to the Quality of a game, Sony really picked up the ball with First and Second Party games (Ignoring Lair and even Heavenly Sword).

Lair was a rush job because of it being at the begining of the gen. I should have been more specific and said when they get into the stride.

I heard that it was a top quality hack and slash. But I also heard that it was way too short for the $60 tag

David Cage: Sony Really Pays Attention to the Quality of a Game

David Cage has gone on record to rubbish claims by "gamers" that Heavy Rain is only full of quick time events. He mentions that the only people saying this are those that have never played the game, and that the balance of QTE versus action in the game is exactly like Farenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US). He explains that the game only goes into QTE during a cutscene sequence, and allows you to control the character at all times throughout these unique experiences.

Cage also commented on Sony saying that "they really pay attention to the quality of the game. That's the only thing that matters to them, and to us too...I think we are in good shape, we made the game we wanted to make."

______________

Among other claims HEAVY RAIN isn't just QTE's.......but anyone not silly probably already realised that lol!

I've been trying to tell people about the QTEs, that's NOT all the game is doing. However, I agree with him about Sony caring about the quality of a game! In fact, most devs who deal exclusively with Sony say some to that effect.

It's never enough...

"I think that I don't think."

The hack'n'slash is good, not great but good. I really liked most of the Sixaxis bits though. I bought it for 200 DKK where a brand new game will cost you about 550 DKK, but I do however wish I had gotten it for slightly less, like 150 DKK. That would probably have been the sweetspot, for me anyway

Apart from lots of QTE's during action sequences, there's also a whole lotta point'n click yes.

I wonder why they didnt make this game multiplatform anyway.

I doubt Quantic Dream would have been able to get the funding needed for a game as huge as Heavy Rain, unless they had struck a deal with one of the platform holders. Seeing as Sony wanted to do things like that, it was a natural fit.

Yeah maybe. And maybe they signed the deal before this gen started, thinking Xbox would remain a really small console without much SW sales.

Actually I'm surprised Sony hasn't got more of those kind of deals with third party devs.
