Failure is the noun unless you happen to be participating in a context where language has intentionally lost all of its meaning. 4chan is that kind of context. VGChartz, praise be to the powers that have wrought order out of madness, is not such a place yet, and I will do everything in my power to make sure that this place is in keeping with the rest of the world.
I love my language, you see. I like it best when people treat it well.

language is constantly evolving man. By preserving pieces of it, you're killing it. "Fail" is becoming very mainstream, and you can hear it almost everywhere now. Conjunctions were once abhorred by critics and the upper class. Even now that idea persists in resumes and journals where conjunctions are seldom used due to formal convention. You must be one of those people who spells "laser" as "LASER".

Ah-ah-ah. I am as familiar with the evolution of language as I'm ever going to get, and well do I understand the change in the usage of words that has slowly come into being. Hell, I understand "verbing", too - the transition of noun forms to verb forms, like what happened to "access". I am not so old-fashioned.
However, I also understand that communication is necessarily facilitated by an agreed-upon definition st down for certian words so that ideas are communicated aptly. Yes, "fail" as a noun is becoming mainstream - in certain corners of the internet where Anonymous posting makes up the majority of the discourse, and it is spreading somewhat beyond that because of people who participate in that particular dialogue and then bring the conventions outside of that context. It does not mean that it will continue to propagate, though. Very few anon memes actually become pat of the larger lexicon, and in this case I'd rather not sit through the years it will take for this stupidity to die off.
Or, if you prefer, Russel:
No.
