I think I just threw up in my mouth after looking at those pics.........no way would anyone want that configuration. Why mess with perfection, all they need to do is take out the multiple psn store icons in the current iteration set up and it would be back to the xmb that we all loved.
I would only care for something like that as long as it was specifically for when you're in-game. While it's nice that you can select something and have it quit out of a game and open what you wanted, I think the XMB could be faster and more responsive while you're in-game.

It looks like something that'd be on the PS2, I like the XMB the way it is now
I doubt Sony will be replacing the XMB. I can see this as an option when playing multiplayer games online. Sony loves XMB too much. So much so that owners of Sony Bravia TVs see the XMB as their on screen menu.
looks cool for ingame, but i definitely hope they don't change anything
