If you really love "Games" Space restriction and/or a phobia of wires is the the only reason for not owning all consoles during the lifespan of each generation.

In the UK most independant mobile phone stores allow you to choose one of the 3 consoles with a contract mobile (i chose PS3). So you can spend around £300 (Wii £169.99, 360 £129.99) and own all 3 consoles (just like me). Then have the best of all worlds, cause lets all admit it together - All 3 consoles have great exclusives.

Most people here should be able to afford that over 6 or so years (lets not forget additional price drops). So why dont we all do something like the above and stop these silly childish posts and discuss something that really matters like -"Why the Atari Jaguar is the best console of all time" or "Is The Sega Saturn the reason behind Global Warming".

Why does it matter what team wins a football match or witch racing team wins a race? Together they all make a great game or race. It matters because you prefer one team over the other. Don't get me wrong here i agree with your way of thinking, i own both PS3 and 360, and play the Wii at my parents house reguraly, but there is a basis and it's called cmpetitive thinking. Besides competition is great, it useally makes for cheaper products and more games.

$ony has the lead now, but MS has tricks up their sleeve that $ony just won't be able to counter, do you really think $ony can keep up with the sales once the new Natal console comes out, I bet we will see yet another pricecut at that time for the other SKUs. The only reason $ony is doing so well right now is because they released a "new" console with a pricecut. They may come close to the 360 in sales by the end of the gen, but beat it...very doubtful.

MS has yet to even respond to the recent PS3 price drop. All they did was get rid of the $400 console. Prices even went up in some places.

If anything is impressive it would be that MS is still ahead of PS3 by a large amount. Did anyone think a MS console would dominate a Sony console this generation?

The headstart argument is dumb by the way. Genesis came first, SNES beat it. Saturn came first, PS1 beat it 10 fold. PS2 beat the competitors combined 3 fold because it was the best console.

PS3 would have failed no matter when it was released because the masses don't want to pay $600, $500, or even $400 for a game console. Sony has been the most successful console manufacturer and even they couldn't get away with that pricing. Even if the PS3 outsells the 360, it's still a failure because it pissed away a fortune of Sony's money and hurt the brand.

Yes it, is, but some people take it WAY to personally to the point where they detach from reason and logic.

wow you really seem to have a lot of faith in microsoft man! if that list of games you posted up is why then dont count on it, cause most of em suck. they look even worse when compared to what ps3 has! GT5! FINAL FANTASY, HEAVY RAIN, MAG, AGENT!!! if you think games is gonna put microsoft back on top then forget about it cause sony have there own games!
