I'm still trying to figure out WHY this thread was made...to complain about a game recieving a 9.3?!...wow, as coolbeans said:

Would you mind it if Gears of War's story telling and acting performances would be top notch, instead of being pretty miserable?

I said I thought Gears of War was a fine game, but IMO overhyped due to various reasons, amongst these reasons the points mentioned above.

OT: This is one of the saddest things I've seen.

The only reason that they even made this statement is because fanboys were harassing them of why did they give U2 a 9.3...which is just stupid.

I for one cant wait to see what happens to the first reviewer to give U2 an 8.......or heaven forbid a 7

Uncharted 2 has a metascore of 97.

93 certainly isn't such an outlier that we need to question it's extreme lowness, because it isn't very low.

Games like Halo 3 and GTA IV get a score boost from some reviewers because of the hype behind the huge IPs.  Uncharted 2 still ain't doing bad in comparison, though.

And now Uncharted is probably a new monster IP for Sony.  If ND doesn't drop the ball on Uncharted 3, it can be leaps and bounds bigger even than Uncharted 2, which is going to surprise people with how well it sells and with its great legs.

I read the explanation. They said the game didn't innovate, it perfected. Many other reviews said the exact same thing. Gametrailers thinks that other games, with higher reviews, innovated in some way. Though Uncharted 2 may be "perfect" it didn't innovate, and thus, it doesn't deserve a perfect score. If it did, it would be unfair to games like RE4, which influenced and spawned games like Gears of War, and Dead Space.

Games that change the industry(RE4) deserve top scores. Games that perfect gaming(Dead Space) by adding together may great components into a cohesive package are just great, and surprisingly common in todays high dollar industry. Games that change gaming for the better, are as close to perfect as we're ever gonna get.

That's their logic, and I agree.

I think the real issue here is that he didn't kiss fanboy ass when he stated his reasoning, and thus, is flamed on internet forums by those unkissed asses. There is a lot of hate here, for anyone questioning PS3 exclusives. Especially those exclusives that are "proven" to be great.

At the rate they are going........wouldnt be shocked to hear about some news about murders/restraining orders next week when the game is released and reviews are in full swing....next week is going to be EPIC!!!
