don't forget that XBOX 360 have been released a year before PS3 ( and year and a half in europe ), and on a same period PS3 is far ahead of XBOX, so guess who will finish second behind the wii ?

If you put it from PS3 launch, i think 360 is still in the lead.

Ye its interesting that, really puts things in perspective on their success per year. But, are you suprised by this? I don't really think anyone is.

This assumes that their future trajectories won't favor the 360 more than the past ones, and that PS3 has a lifespan at least one year longer than 360 where it keeps selling in order to catch up after 360 stops.  I think it may be possible.

Just remember XBOX was supply constrained for its first 6 months, so the real number sold should be double what it was in the first 6 so if you look at it like that XBOX has the milltons of sales over PS3 now.

Well actually if you work it out with PS3 + 360 sales here in the EU, the PS3 has sold 1.1m more consoles each year than the 360, and with the release of the Slim, I'm sure that could increase even more, meaning the PS3 could very possibly overtake the 360 sooner or later (Although if it does come in second, I can still see it behind the 360 in US, but above everywhere else, pulling it up to second place)

Pretty good work on Sony's behalf... it managed to sell better even when people were saying how terrible and overpriced it was...

Shhhh, don't mention things like the PS3 was released a year after XBox, come swith BluRay, is always free to Play Online, comes with Wireless controllers, fails 1% of time ect. it might make all the XBox fanbois do some math and realized how crappy their system is. They're just kids ya know!
