As an ailing fat man once said, " it may cost you a little, it may cost you a lot, but it WILL cost you". It really doesn't matter if natal cost 100 or even 200 dollars, the only thing that matters is marketing. If Natal comes bundled with an amazing game that millions of people are interested in, greatly enjoy playing and soon become very addicted to, it'll be an instant success. MS could market it the same way they did Rockband ; buy this awesome game, which comes with all these useful expensive accessories. I never thought someone would actually pay $170 for one game and a set of peripherals that can only be used with that type of game, but millions of consumers disagree. If both avid and casual gamers are willing to spend that much money on one genre of gaming, why would they mind spending that same amount on a device which could be used for several different types of games ( and at some point social networking) (MS's version of home)

That's a great post my friend.

OT: Doesn't matter what it starts at, I will buy it when it is $100 or less.

why does bundling Natal with games sound like a good idea to many? because its not..

Rockband had the advantage of Guitar Hero paving the way. Guitar Hero originally launched for something like $80 with one Guitar, It started out really poorly but then becamse insanely popular and brought the genre to the forefront. Only then did Rock Band (and guitar hero with full band) manage to sell for $170. If the first GH was $170 or more out the door it probably would have flopped and never caught on and we never would have gotten RB.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

But the Wii doesn't pave the way for Natal? Your logic breaks down a bit here.

So it'll be priced higher at first. No big shock. The question is 'how high'? The initial price / games will have a huge impact on how Natal takes off, whether okay, great or badly. I know, Captain Obvious, right?

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Well, they haven't made the huge mistake of telling people to get a second job to buy Natal...

Well when something is this far away I'm afraid the most reasonable thought process on how it will do is a boring and noncommital one.  Better that than acting like you can see the future ^^

Here is the interesting bit from that article

Start saving now for Project Natal. Bach says the new control peripheral for the Xbox 360 will mirror that of the console itself – start high, then slowly work its way down. “Relative to Natal, we’ll see how the pricing cost works out,” he said. “But people should except that it will go through the usual price curve.”

Sounds expensive from that, but we'll see. Also IGN covered this for those wondering about the reliability of this random source.

Bold is conjecture, red is actual.  The whole high comment is completely from left field.
