However, Craig Fairbass, his VA, is playing a character called Ghost in MW 2, who wears a mask. Now, just putting 2 and 2 together, maybe his face has been screwed up, so he wears a mask, and somehow they have saved Gaz. Yeah, it may not be realistic, but in the last game, a nuke went off, and this one Washington is invaded, and Gaz was so awesome, him staying dead would be a tragedy

Even if he is alive, though, he probably won't be playable. Price isn't, and neither is Soap.

EDIT: I didn't mean playable, I meant a companion. But Ghost does seem to be a companion. Hmmm.

They should have kept Soap as a playable character, high ranking or not. Do we take control of Americans as well?

Price is a companion, he was sitting in front of the player in that boat during the last trailer. Yeah I would have prefered to keep Soap (though he will be on my shelf next to Altair and Ezio!), it does make sense for him to graduate. And I think we will play as someone other than Roach, that is a CoD tradition

I'm too late! But I would've said 9.5. I don't even like FPS's, and this one (like Halo 3) was an addiction, for a long time. I even played it a couple of weeks ago, and enjoyed it.

Another reason this game is so great is because it sold fantastically not because of hype, or advertising, or brand power, but because of pure quality and appeal.

Sub-HD resolution (it wasn't even noticeable, the game looked better than most 720p FPS) and aim assist justify knocking off 20%?

Subjectively speaking, I really didn't like the online that much. It did some things well, but it took a backseat to Team Fortress 2, Crysis, and Counter-Strike Source (for me). Considering I'd only give Crysis an 8.5 and TF2 a 9... well, yeah.

 

Maybe I'd give it a better score if I played it on PC, but my console buddies wanted me to play with them.

Yes, but giving a game a 3 is just ridiculous. Very few games reach that level of suckiness, and CoD4 is not one of them. Really, it's not even subjective. I mean, give it a 7 or 8, even a 6, but 3 implies that it is so horrendous as to be unplayable.

EDIT: Maybe he's a Wii fanboy! But it's releasing on Wii as well so does that work?

 

That is correct. It is so horrendous that it is unplayable. To me it is worse than your average FPS. And I do not own a Wii. BTW, Quantum of Solace, a COD derivative, was much better than COD4. It fixed all of the problems I cited with COD 4.

Easily a 9.9/10

It has great graphics even now and it was out in 2007. It has a great aiming system, great weapons/customization. The online is just amazing. Tons of great game modes and maps. Also the single player is fun too but online is what its all about.

I'll hold off on giving it a 10 though because it isn't perfect.
