The Go! is an experiment. Judged by the criteria in the OP it does indeed seem to fail. I'd argue though those criteria are not the right ones to use.

Sony is clearly testing the water with the Go! It's not the latest PSP model a'la 2000 to 3000 but a different model entirely, aimed at a totally different audience.

I have no idea if it will succeed or not, but I am curious to see if it does as that will indicate the real audience for digital distribution, and all the changes it would bring.

I've often noted that those who bang on about digital distribution are also going on about how great used games are in the very next thread posting, leading me to understand they simply don't really get what a true digital distribution market would mean.

The PSP-Go should have been $150.00-$130.00

It doesn't cost Sony much to make.

I mean take a PSP and use less parts and you have a PSP-Go and it's not even touch screen, so not much high price tech involved in that..

- old, outdated and error prone wireless protocol (802.11b)
- downloads can't be resumed and take forever
- PSP can't be used for anything else while downloading

...wow, this thing is the biggest piece of shit ever released, surpassing the 32x and the Virtual Boy.

It's worse in every concievable way to its predecessor, as well as being much more expensive, and having higher priced games. Also, your old games don't work on it, despite it being the same console, and the screen is smaller.

Plus you can't really download games on it that well at all.

It was also made very cheaply by Sony, as in, it costs them less to make.

It's absolute garbage.

Seriously, why is it ok to troll the psp, while most reviewers have bashed it, the catual users who bought have all said positive things about it. I can seriously understand people mad about the price, but the hate is coming from those who already own one or never would get one.

I agree ill stick with my 1000 for now and get a 3000 later.

sonys own form would be the sony connect, various forms of walkmen, and music phones. sony despite being a media giant has been unable as of yet to match apples success using a myraid of products, this is another attempt to copy the formula to beat apple out of its niche. I will say the current playstation store is the best incarnation of a media store sony has put forth

I want a go but not straight away. And i will get one. Probably around April or something because thats when my b-day is. Nah fuck that x-mas is comming. Me and my sister are getting one. She getting one for me nephew so it will all be cool.
