I'd never leave my house again if they put Might and Magic 1-5 on WiiWare. I honestly believe all the problems of the world would be soved if they did that.

WiiWare NEEDS a top down 2D RTS game, preferrably with online multiplayer.
i would kinda like to play another platformer/rpg hybrid like super paper mario. just use 2-d graphics and be sure to make the platforming actually fun.
come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1
you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

You mean like Murama-
and be sure to make the platforming actually fun.
Oh. Nevermind.
and also shams think you could try what ron and kyle did?
i'm talking about thier brainstorming phase. they just made dozens of hastily proto-types (each made in just a few days) each with wildly different control types, concepts, ect. and then went with whatever the communnity liked the best (this was how world of goo was born lol)
that way, you could get the community involved and work your programmers to death in the process :b.

"Dual Wii remotes = rocketbelt from Pilotwings 64, OR Pod Racing style rocket racing game. Each hand controls a jet."
I have thought about this idea before and i'm in love with it.
Thanks for the comments and ideas everyone :)
I'll comment on a couple of them here:
@Source: I'm not too sure how well a "pure" turn-based title would go on WiiWare. It might rock - it might not - not sure which ones are there (I need to look into it). Pokemon has shown that puzzle/turn-based games can be seriously successful.
@Rubang: Yeah, those are exactly the sort of ideas I'm wondering about. The Wii is all about immersion - so really go overboard with the controls, integrate multiple Wiimotes, Balance board (etc) - and do whatever is required to make a simple, yet incredibly immersive game. My 'gut' tells me its primarily the *hardcore* Ninty fans who use WiiWare - and they are interested in squeezing the most (experience?) out of the console.
As I mentioned, I have one idea that I really don't want to explore in the public arena - because I really do think it be perfect on the Wii (co-op, advanced motion controls, RPG, ...).
It does seem people are generally keen for either a Zelda or Mario style game (with coop) and Wii specific features.

Another post that talks about the development process:
Firstly - depending on the game, we do a massive amount of prototyping. Internally we won't green light something until we have a working prototype, we consider it fun, its original enough to be worth it, we show it to "external" (non-gamers) and they get it, and so on.
We literally spend *months* doing this. Flowerworks went through 20 iterations and tweaks, and the original concept was something completely different (and actually based on Super Mario Galaxy!). Tweaking just a number or two, is enough to break or make a concept.
Secondly - I'm not big about exposing all these ideas to the "community". Here is why:
1/ If we come up with a REALLY good idea, word will spread - and other companies can implement it before us. Remember that you can't really protect a "game play" mechanism (i.e. as a trademark).
2/ My experience on the web in general, is that people tend to be *negative*. Its much, much easier to say "its crap" than to provide any form of real feedback. I have lots of friends in the games industry, and I trust their opinions. I'll much rather show it to a few selective people, and get their opinions than throw it out there to the fanboy wolves.
3/ The key thing about the Wii is the controls. Hence, the key thing about any Wii prototype will be the controls (if it isn't - it isn't really a Wii title). You can't go sending Wii demos to the public, have them play with it and give U feedback. Not easily anyway.
We'll get people into our studio, explain what we are trying to achieve, get them to try the demo - and importantly watch their reaction to various game elements. Its there you really pick up what confuses them, and what doesn't.
4/ The one lesson I keep learning over and over again in the games industry, is showing stuff to people too early can kill you. I understand this is simply about a core gameplay mechanism - not a polished game - but it still applies IMO. We want to nail down a mechanism we are happy with, then turn this into a full "game" - before getting a *lot* of people to see it.
We honestly thought Flowerworks was "finished" 9 months ago(!) - yet if we now compare that, to what we have now (which we really think is finished) - it looks and feels like crap to us.
So yeah - food for thought!

I'm baffled that nobody has made a feature-rich Wiiware version of the tank game from Wii Play. Tweak the gameplay, add bosses and powerups, maybe an upgrade system, co-op and competitive modes... somebody needs to make it.
I'm playing Star Control 2 again, so I'd also suggest a space-trading type game with 2D arcade-style gameplay.

Something I can play with my girlfriend..
World of Goo made her want a Wii, she loves the puzzle aspect, the co-op play and the fact that the goo balls are cute and make cute noises :P plus she loves the art style.
I'm not saying copy World of Goo but..
I think you need to craft a game that has a good multiplayer aspect but can also be enjoyed alone, the characters should be entertaining - muttering one liners or having quirky animations for attacking or whatever they do..
Hope that helps.. :)
