For US residents they offer a free charge repair if your console isn't modded.

Some of you have reported problems with your Wii console after updating to the Wii System Menu 4.2. The symptoms most people are describing usually occur when the Wii has been modified. However, some of you also mention your system has never been modified.

We'd like to help get your system working properly again. If you're experiencing problems with your Wii console after downloading Wii System Menu 4.2, and you believe your system has not been modified, please give us a call. If we find that you have a normal system and the update caused your system to not work, we'll repair it at no charge.

What are the symptoms? I've only played Majora's Mask since upgrading, and I want to make sure I'm not affected.

And no, my system isn't modded. I don't even know how.

Upgraded, never mod, and no issues.

I bet its just stupid modders who got bricked.

i upgraded it but it took forever just to update it from 4.1 to 4.2

I'm a little sceptical in these "i didn't mod, it just bricked", of course, not saying it couldn't happen. But could it be, that people have been turning their consoles off while upgrading, since the update seemed to be stopping (apparently, to install what was DL:d so far) four times, if i recall, during the update.

I updated and it took quite some time but i've had no problems. Has anybody here who hasn't modded their console actually had a problem?
