Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii Graphics Outdated by 2011!!

shams, we haven't hit photo-realism...someday though... but I agree...graphics don't matter as much as gameplay, though both together make the great game. I agree with everything Kai Master said as well.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

We dont have to wait until 2011 ,Wii graphics are outdated right now . And if you have an HDTV it is a lot more noticeable .

The PS3 if lucky will have just enough developers to show the casual fans that the motion sensing controls on the PS3 are better and that the pointer is useless.
Wii has ~729mhz IBM Power 3 RISC CPU, x-box is ~733 Mhz intel pentium 3 CPU so cycle for cycle the Wii is twice the speed of the x-boxl. Wii has 88 Mb memory, x-box has 64 Mb, about a third more. Wii has 243 Mhz ATI GPU, x-box has 233 Mhz NVIDIA GPU , but Wii has more effects than etc on chip that developers will have to uncover.

Yeah, just like PC's already beat the PS3. And if you have a high rez monitor, like 1200x1600, then its allot more noticable

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"

As for saying that the wii is more powerful and stuff I think it is important to look at all the information and everything, which I am sure the wii beats the xbox in some parts and vise versa. Do you know any websites that might show this information?

Yes, 2007 is the best year for ps3 - no games, damn high price, Wii-hype, Xbox360 strong attack... yeah...after price drop and invasion of great titles for PS3 there is no other option than freefall into a niche market. Earth to RolStoppable : we are losing you, don't give up, you're gonna make it... everything will be alright, our specialist still can fix you. I would say there will not be a better year than this for Wii.

I think his point can be demonstrated by looking at 2002 for the XBox and Gamecube ... Possibly not the systems' best year in terms of number of units sold it was their best year in terms of market share ...

Do you really believe this is an accurate comparison? Situation is totally different. Sometimes I think all you N-boys tries just to say no whenever sony represents yes. If Sony will sell 750k it would be a disaster, if it sell 1 million it still doesn't mean anything because Wii is sold out... EDIT: I think he has no idea about market share of Xbox and Gamecube in 2002, he is just silly N-fanboy dude.

The Wii CPU is definitely quite a bit more powerful than the Xbox's: it's just architecturally more efficient per clock (for nerdy reason related to instruction length, the cache size and cache locking, execution pipeline depth, etc.) The GPUs are a closer call: the Wii like the GC benefits hugely from a very large on-chip texture and frame cache, although the Xbox's GPU was for flexible in terms of what the shaders could do. The edge goes to the Wii, but it's not a slam dunk. For games that are well programmed there should be a decent graphical jump over the Xbox, although that hasn't been the case with a lot so far (many Wii games truly look sub-GC which is nonsense)

Well by 2011 Nintendo could come up with a backwards compatable Wii 2 with 360 quality, even perhapse PS3 quality processing power. Right now great graphics don't seem to be that high of a selling factor. I mean the Wii and PS2 outsells the 360 and PS3, and the DS outsells the PSP. Now as for the 360 and PS3 I'm sure they'll both do conciderably better as their prices come down, and eventually they will pass the Wii in monthly sales, but for now the Wii is the hot console out there.
