How does that post mean what you just claimed it did?
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
I personally agree with this guy.

What do you mean "huh"? Did you actually read the post you replied to, or your reply? You claimed the poster you replied to stated something about Nintendo that was not actually in that post.

I love it when people determine how much a console is "worth." Was the Atari Jaguar worth more than the Super Nintendo, because it had better hardware? In retrospect, it's a laughable argument, but people use the same one against the Wii.
As far as games, the Wii might not be perfect for all "hardcore" gamers, but there are some seriously high quality games on it.
Mega Man 3 was really good, but the best part about the game was that it had the bosses from Mega Man 2 in it, because Mega Man 2 had better bosses. MM2 also had better music, level design, and weapons, and was by far the better game. MM3 is just such a weird choice for best game of all time. It's really really good, but claiming it's the best game of all time is like saying the same thing for Mario Sunshine while Mario 64 is standing right next to it looking at you all sad. If you're going to be all retro platformer about it, you could at least pick MM2, or SMB3, or DKC, or even Sonic 2.
What a wacko.

Snake Man and Gemini Man > MM2's entire line-up.

There are still plenty of awesome classic hardcore games.
We have Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Smash Bros, Mariokart...
Yeah, it's a little dry spell right now, but New Super Mario Bros Wii is about to come out, Mario Galaxy 2 is coming next year, along with Metroid: Other M...
Don't forget... Nintendo has always kept people waiting for titles. Ocarina of Time was supposed to be a launch title on N64, but you know what? It was worth the wait...
I read a lot of replies and I think some people either didn't read the article or really condensed his point down to something easier to argue.
I don't think he's arguing that every ounce of the Wii is crap. What he's saying, is that there hasn't been an epic, blow you out of the water, play all the time game, in HIS opinion, since 2007. I think he's also pointing out what we all know, that bad Wii games shine above all other bad games because they look worse than PS2 ports, and its quite apparent sometimes when a company just wants to cash in on the motion controls and nothing else.
But I mean, wasn't that a necessary evil of the game industry? I think it took a long time for developers to really understand what they could do with the Wii. I think it took even longer to figure out how to market for it. I personally hope that game developers read this article and think to themselves "wow, we have a 50+ million install base to work with, lets get off our asses and do something", instead of cranking out PS3 and 360 ports.
