I was speaking to some mates of mine who mentioned that SE release an Asian version of FF games at the same time as Japanese ones. They also said that this version normally has English menus and subtitles?

Was the dude just vocalising from his anus or is there some truth to this story?

I'd like to know 'cause I'll be heading Singapore way at the end of the year for a few weeks and if this story turns out to be true, I'll have one more thing on my shopping list.

"International" version he might mean. those have english and japanese subs.

The international version shows up much later than the Japanese version, so a sad Spankey I remain.

I think it just depends on the game. I remember when Lost Odyssey on the 360 came out the "Asian" version was released at the same time as the Japan version and the Asian version was in English. Though the Japanese and actual Western releases of the game were fairly close(about 2-3 months difference), so I'm sure they were already finished with the English translation and everything.

As for FF13, it probably won't be released in English so soon since the Japanese and Western(US/Europe) releases are pretty far apart. Don't quote me on that though ;-p

I don't think so. But I do know that you can get Demon's Souls in Singapore. SG$80.
