I'm in but so far, I'm slightly unconvinced.

I guess me having a dislike for FPSs doesn't help but still.

With that said, I can see why some folks would like it, thing is huge.

If you start it up, prepare to download a 2.6g update that will take 12hrs to download because of the truely rediculous p2p system these guys have decided to use.

It's true. What's worse is, I decided to do the 12hrs 2nights ago by leaving the ps3 on all night when I woke up in the morning I found out my connection died at about 60% so I had to restart the console when I got back to the update, it went back to 0% because the update doesn't save any of what's been downloaded.

But luckily they released a patch the next day that fixes this so you should be able to update in installs instead of the full 12+ hrs slug.

How many players are usually in the same battlefield on average?

I'm in, and that install is ridiculous but it only took me 3 hours to download it. I dont play it too much but I jump into it on occasion

When I played it was 4 teams of 8 (I assume it's both sides)
They supposedly scaled it down for the beta.
If you like these kind of games I think you would like MAG but its not for me. After I got sniped whilst dropping in on a parachute (aka a spawn point) for about the 5th time...it kinda got old...but from the voice chatter I could hear, sounds like the FPS vets were having a blast so...

128 or 256,  havent been in any games smaller than that.
