It was positive reviews and positive word of mouth. It wasn't even bundled until after it had like 2 million sales or something.

Some interesting comments so far. For the people who are mentioning the good reviews or the game being good not being a poll option. I think those choices are mainly included with the positive word of mouth option. Obviously if the game was of poor quality people would not be recommending it to others. Also, I don't think reviews really effect how a game sales well after it's launch. I could see the reviews impacting initial sales, but if the game continued to sell well long after reviews came out, I think that can be attributed to positive word of mouth. If someone has a strong argument for the reviews being an option for future polls though, I'd be glad to hear it.

Positive word of mouth. Everyone I talked to on the PSN, forums, or even co-workers and friends were praising the game.

but what really helped it get over the 2 Million mark isn't bundles but word of mouth

compare Uncharted, MGS4, Killzone 2 & more PS3 games sales (on the VG Chartz graph function)

you'll find that although to begin with uncharted was behind, later on its legs were far greater than those other games.

So WORD of MOUTH gets the vote from me!

Keep the comments and votes coming. Also, if you are leaving a comment and can provide a link to a credible source, as proof I'll include a reference to you in the article as well. For example, if you were to say marketing, if you had a link to an article with the marketing budget for the game, or if you say bundles, and have a link for when the bundles started, which regions, how long etc. I'm really wanting the articles to have a lot of community input.

I think it were 3 factors important: Word of Mouth, Bundeling and Continous Advertising. Its the Only PS3 game add i remember in the past 18 months. It was really often in TV unless all other PS3 Games except LBP.

Its a fantastic Game with good Graphics. I think that Uncharted 2 will be really a big success i think it could eventually reach MGS 4 Levels.
