Forums - Sales - If FF13 sells 1.5 Million LTD (Japan), Will FF15 be on Wii? DS? PSP?

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=86515&page=1

As we can see here, Famitsu ONLY expects FF13 to do 1.5 Million LTD in Japan

I know most games don't even get to this mark WW.....but this is Final Fantasy

The PS1 FF's did over 3 million except for FF9 (2.7 Million)

While FFX & FF12 did way over 2 million.

If FAMITSU is correct, what will the implications be for Final Fantasy?

Will S-E release a FF15 on Ps3......will it go to wii instead? or will it go to handhelds?

The logical option is wii, release DQX on wii (which they are), get JRPG fans on it ready for FF15

________

Basically tell me this:

1. Do you think FF13 will sel as LOW as Famitsu is saying (they have a very good record at predicting game software apparently)?

2. If FF13 does 1.5 Million only in Japan, will FF15 be on Wii? DS or PSP?

3. What will be the implications on Final Fantasy as a franchise?

_________

My views:

1. I think.....no I HOPE HOPE that famitsu is so wrong they go out of business....lol

2. YEs, this will be awful for the franchise......it will go to Wii as DQX will bring loads of JRPG fans to it

3. The franchise will stall in Japan.....

If famitsu is wrong, my 10 Million WW PS360 versions FF13 LTD prediction is still on

how quickly we forget the install base in Japan for the PS3.

@RolStoppable

Wrong, The FFXII team is probably devoloping it since 2006 when they finished FFXII.

once again...becuase because the Wii has the highest fanbase does NOT guarantee higher sales at all, next FF13 sales will be highter than that

@Rolstoppable

FF15 will be out this gen easily

Wada said future FF's will be made quickly

with FF14 out next year, FF15 is a lock on for 2012

uhm i woudl say that famitsu is a bit low on their expectations: if 30% of ps3 owners buy FFXIII (non counting all the new customers) it will probably end nearer 2.0 m than 1.5...but under 2m LTD in Japan is a bad result. If Wii can regain the records of past years in Japan it has a good shot...but don't forget that probably FFXIV will be out for 2011, so FFXV won't come out before 2013, so it's very possible to see it multiplat between two generations, maybe ps360-wii2 (it would sell a lot and the Wii 2 will be HD and more powerful than Wii, so i can see it happening).

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

I think it well sell more than that (in its first week)

FFXIII will sell around 1.5 Million just in first week with PS3 userbase around 4 Million.
Just like MGS4 sold pretty much same(around 500k first week) as previous games in Japan with much smaller PS3 userbase(around 2.1 Million).

Before FFX release, PS2 had around 5 Million userbase, and the game sold around 2 Million first week.
So around 1.5 Million FFXIII just in first week, unless Final Fantasy became less popular now in Japan, which i doubt.

I disagree with Famitsu... I think the game will do at least 1.5 million first week in Japan with the LTD coming out at about 2.2-2.5 million! Since it is the first Final Fantasy on new hardware (which is now cheaper and more attractive) this should be an easy task

honestly i cant believe what famitsu is saying on this one. Even though 1.5 mil may seem logical given the install base, this is the first FF game on an HD console, and its on a consoile that just had a price cut and a new slim model released. Not to mention the fact they are bundling this game with the PS3. Seriously i dont think famitsu thought about this b4 they gave their predictions, just like they didnt realize that Haze was a bad game.
