Forums - Sony Discussion - VGC OFFICIAL HEAVY RAIN Thread

I'm hoping I get a "your order has been shipped!" email from Amazon today so that maybe, just maybe, I'll get the game on Monday.

I'm on the fence about getting Heavy Rain. Is it a rental or a game to own? Is it really a new genre defining game? Is it all graphics and no game?

Who told you it'd be all graphics and no game in the first place?

No one, but with any graphics heavy game, its usually the game play that suffers.  All tech and no soul.

Btw, Amazon is listing it for just a few bucks cheaper in my quick pick for $52.21.  With my $10 certificate for a previous game order, it's tempting me but still on the fence.

Don't know if already posted but this german site has a huge number of Heavy Rain development screens with the women staring Madison Page.

By the way is Fahrenheit any good?has anyone played it?

In my opinion, it's nothing fantastic, but it's reasonably decent. I'm only about halfway through.

It's also a VERY VERY VERY acquired taste.

I got addicted by the Heavy Rain Demo so I think I'll start it as well,to get my dose until heavy rain comes out :)

The Heavy Rain demo is better than all but one of the levels I've played in Fahrenheit so far. Incidentally, the opening level.

It starts very strong indeed, then slowly descends into an incoherent, irritating mess.

This is unfortunate about Indigo.

when you play Fahrenheit you will notice an odd jump in the time-line to two weeks later.

i believe i read in an interview once, that they had to omit this part of the storyline that was supposed to be in the game, due either to monetary or deadline reasons, that is why it gets so confusing in the end.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Just a point, I saw an advert for this on TV today, good Sony you better advertise this!

It was Scott Shelby in the store, with the options swirling around the guy holding up the shop, he chose attack, and then hit him with a bottle

Even thoght I personally don't like most of the recently made sony games i think this time they have made it.
I've just played the demo, and I was really impressed....I wasn't very excited by this game before now I think I will buy it.

I've kept my eye on this game for quite a while, was always going to buy it, it was just a question of when but after the demo this will be my first game I'll buy on day of release.

I loved Fahrenheit, especially the first couple of hours but the last quarter of the game when it descended into some sci-fi religious shit with awful qte's I never finished it which was a shame for such a promising start.

Sandpaper kisses still a top tune though.

I disagree there but I can understand the concern.

I'm off the fence, add one more to the Heavy Rain pre-order.

^or so they say. From more than 40 reviews the game has already (and I have read more than 10) graphics don't seem to be considered earth-shattering. Obviously, they're miles better than let's say MW2 (which ridiculous IGN scored a 10...yuck), but the general consent is they're great, but not top tier.

Dunno if this was already posted:
