Uh?
They might be "pleased" of how the game has sold this far and hoping to see a lot more sales later. Or they might be pleased to get even some of their money back.

We also have to remember that part of the budget was for the improvements on the Quantum 3 engine, which will be used on other Wii titles.
of course they'd say that, it's not like there going bag out the sales, it'll just make them look bad...but i reckon there not lpleased, because unlike any other 3rd party developer HVS really pushed the wii graphically with there engine to try and make a game with a realist art style, it was the killzone 2 game of the wii, so it must of cost allot more than even 1st party nintendo games to make...still i've got to give it to them, putting up a confidant face despite shit sales.

I'm not saying they are or they aren't, but you don't go around talking about how the sky is falling and your product isn't doing good when it isn't, because then no one wants to buy said product. If you would like to know one of the many cases where a product is doing horribly and a company never admits it, refer to Sony Computer Entertainment and the PS3. Now, they've never admitted how terrible it was doing for the past 2.5 years, always talking it up, but we knew better. No one is going to outright say something is doing bad when it is. And someone being 'happy' or 'pleased' means naught because that doesn't tell us whether it made profit or not. Lots of people react to this news as if he said anything but he really didn't say anything, because they're not going to say when something is going wrong, or they're not pleased.
I think the fact that it shipped 300k or whatever speaks for itself, and we don't have any clue on how much the game costed, and how much it made back, so him being 'pleased' does nothing to prove or disprove anything.
Everytime a "hardcore" game on the Wii barely manages to sell 250k, the developer is "pleased". Either 250k is profitable, or they didn't think the game would even sell that well on the Wii, so to reach that number would "please" them. All in all...standards are low nowadays

I would argue standards are high. I'm pretty sure there was a time when a new ip would sell more than 100k and the developers would be overjoyed. Or when an existing franchise that didn't do much before sells 1million it is beyond amazing. Today if a game doesn't sell more than 500k it BOMBED. In many cases with the price to develop a high budget HD game that may even be true.
too bad they dont count almost sales
3 different times i held the game in my hands debating buying it intensely
still havent tho, but one day

Actually they are a privately company not listed on the market so they can tell whatever they want and lie all they want...
I still don't get how Sega could have made any money on this game with the TV advertising campaign it got...
