Forums - Gaming - Namco Dev EXPLAINS why TOV was a Timed 360 Exclusive (SHOCK)!

Wow. There you go.

Is it me or does this article make sony seem like assholes?
Can't port without new content, won't fund, can't support, hard to program for...lots of negativity.

If this is true...I understand that a game like this competes with sony's own game lineup...but they really arent busting ou tJRPGs left and right.

Sony are dicks blackmailing devs like that. I don't believe Nintendo does that and Microsoft certainly doesn't.

This is common knowledge, and what is to be expected of Sony by devs. They are the Nintendo of the late 80s/early 90s. Very douchey to developers.

So basically It's easier to make on the 360, and MS pays you for a year of exclusivity.

I would develop for the 360 and later port to the PS3 myself if thats the case.

Yeah so would I

I'd say

F U SONY

make the game on 360 for a year.....then port it to PS3

OBVIOUSLY going by TOV Pre Orders its gonna outsell the Xbox 360 version possibly in 1 day alone.....definetely within a  week

so I'm not loosing any of my fanbase either + I make more profit in the long run

_________

Unless I had enough money to fund my game, like S-E or Konami & so on

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

If this is true I think MS just got owned. And that Sony are dickheads haha. Hate RPG's anyway. Only enjoyed FFIX.

No they aren't. Namco chose to ignore the PS3 when they released Tales on the 360 first. They deserve to get this treatment if they are going to try and handle customers like this.

Feel free to add me as your friend-PSN ID: Bobo012893

Hasn't it always been Sony's policy for ports that they must have extra content?

I really dont see how this makes Sony the "dicks"...
After all, if it wasn't for Namco/MS deal, Sony wouldnt have to use the policy.

And ToV would have sold a LOT more...

Darth, you linked to a hentai site so maybe you should not link the article or something.

I mean, look at the other news articles ...

@carl

its STILL gonna sell a LOT!

its got 250K pre-orders already = more than the 360 versions LTD

I don't know about more profit but I agree with everything else.

Considering they have to go through the porting process to cell and have to add on a lot of extra content, and are not getting paid (if anything) by Sony, thould in turn still have to sell a boat load of units.

I doubt they made much on Eternal Sonata port for example.

TOV is up in the air if the pre-order numbers hold up maybe.

It's just that simple.
