This will be a "fun for five minutes" game for some people and a source of endless amusement for others.

The controls do suck hard, but thats the nature of a puzzle game. Rarely do the controls actually hinder your ability to complete a level. I have to agree that the fun will vary based on your ability to use creative problem solving. This is especially true if you want to beat all the levels 4 times.
For example, I was complaining to my girlfriend about one level where you had to "Play Ball." I tried a lot of different solutions, but ultimately found only one thing that was not a ball of some type. She responded with a similar complaint about a level where you had to knock a bunch of bottles down in a manner similar to the famous carnival game. Apparently she couldn't think of a solution other than throw an object at bottles to knock them down. My response: "I dropped a whale on them."
Well bummer on the controls, but I'm gonna still get it. Hopefully by then you all can find workarounds for it, hence I would be seeking advice.
How have so many of you played the game if it isn't out? Oh, and 7/10 is never a bad score. From Eurogamer, it's a great score.

Totally, that means Scribblenauts is as good as Ghostbusters. :-p
I don't agree. Yes, the controls are very clunky, and they cause frustration, but that's the only thing I can find wrong with the game. Everything else is just brillant.
And he complained about the TUTORIAL? It's 10 mins long at most!

People complain about 3 minute unskippable cutscenes. Why would they not complain about a 10+ minute unskippable tutorial?
I like Armored Core 4/For Answer's solution. It automatically puts you in the tutorial but you can just pull up the menu and quit it to go straight to the game. Good for novices but skippable for people who don't need to be spoonfed where to go next.
Having only played around on the menu and finishing the tutorial, I already get the complaints about the controls. That said though, I already love this game.
And that tutorial is a little bit annoying just because it's long and not interesting. I want to get to zany creating stuff, not read text box after text box.
Also, I love how the tutorial tells me to explore and then drops a star on my head.
Also also, boo for no portable hole and no bag of holding. I still made a black hole and sucked myself and the menu in, but I wanted to make my own black hole. ;_;
I just picked it up this afternoon, and yes the controls are a bit touchy (pardon the pun), and yeah, the mandatory tutorial at the beginning sucks hard and almost zaps all the fun out of the game, but once you start messing around with the game yourself, it becomes quite enjoyable, albeit somewhat repetitive too, but hopefully there's more variety to the levels and puzzles as you progress through the game.
Best experience I had so far with the game was on the title screen *SPOILER WARNING*...
I was messing around creating vampires, zombies, werewolves, and letting them fight to the death, but the vampire kept kicking everyone's ass including mine. I tried taking it out with grenades and a rocket launcher but the bastard wouldn't go down... so I nuked the entire level haha!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
