The controls do suck hard, but thats the nature of a puzzle game. Rarely do the controls actually hinder your ability to complete a level. I have to agree that the fun will vary based on your ability to use creative problem solving. This is especially true if you want to beat all the levels 4 times.
For example, I was complaining to my girlfriend about one level where you had to "Play Ball." I tried a lot of different solutions, but ultimately found only one thing that was not a ball of some type. She responded with a similar complaint about a level where you had to knock a bunch of bottles down in a manner similar to the famous carnival game. Apparently she couldn't think of a solution other than throw an object at bottles to knock them down. My response: "I dropped a whale on them."
