It will peek in the first week with 300.000 and it will quickly crumble after that. 2 million lifetime at the most, not counting bundles. 2 million is still an impressive number though.

Europeans hardly care with GT around the corner and NA is stacking up on PS3 at the moment as hardware sales clearly show, many of them are currently buying platinum games on PS3. Japan sales are insignificant.

Rubbish, you speak as if every europe/other gamer owns a PS3.

No, not every one. A large and significant group however does and they care about games like GT. The PS3 momentum now and the soon to follow Wii momentum due to a price cut will overshadow any game on 360 or pc. Sad but true for the good old pc.

Beautiful multiplat games like Need for speed shift recently being released aren't helping either. Let's not forget about Dirt 2 either, great game btw.

"A large and significant group" - I could say exactly the same about 360.

People that own a 360 are not suddenly going to stop buying games because PS3 and Wii sales rise .. there is still a 12 million userbase you're totally forgetting.

Money can only be spend once, ofcourse higher PS3 and Wii sales will affect the 360. Let's say there are 10 people planning to get forza with an 360 who recently also got a PS3 due to the pricecut. It's fair to say they are more inclined to look at what their new purchase has to offer and are very likely to get some games that are exclusive to the PS3 and they had missed before. I assume 7 of those people are now unlikely to get the game they would have gotten before since the budget is gone.

Due to piracy being pretty large in Europe I also think the 12 million userbase should be taken with a very very large grain of salt.

So you're saying the people who recently picked up a slim will be more inclined to buy a game for the PS3 than the 360.

Ok I agree but then assuming that they own a 360 as well and remembering this game isn't out for over a month so by then the honeymoon period will be over for them and they could be looking at games for their 360 now.
Also they might have wanted this game before the slim was even announced as well as by the time Forza is released the slim would've sold how many? Say 700,000 in Europe and say they all have 360's and they've all stopped buying 360 games that still leaves 11 and a half million potential buyers so I can't see this being that big a factor.

+1 Million first week

+5M LTD

people will soon understand MS is not joking about FM3

So a bigger launch week than COD4 on 360 then?

You are confident.

What does COD4 matter, even Fable II beat COD4's 1st week sales.

Although I doubt Forza 3 could do a million in one week ...

well, ok, 1M week1 is a bit too much

but I m sure MS will do everything that is possible in PAL to make people understand/believe that FM is the definitive racer to buy

also, the demo will help a lot people to decide and I m sure the demo will rock

Time to Work !

First Week:
350 Worldwide
200k in America
150k in Others

LT:
1.7 without bundling
3.0 with bundling

320k First week.

2.15 million lifetime.

@starcraft ur kidding on the 400k WW prediction?

i predict a 700k to 800k 1st week and lifetime of near abouts 4.5million. im taking instal base into consideration

i wouldnt separate bundled and unbundled, its not fair. if a popular retail game is bundled the sales should still count, ie demand for a console was such that more copies are published to get into gamers hands.

The last game just barely made 350k in the first week.  The next one is not going to come even close to doubling that.  Forza 3 may have been casualised but at it's core it is still the best, most hardcore racing sim out there.  As such, it doesn't have the broad popularity (or long-term legacy) of GT.

Furthermore, overwhelmingly bundled titles are obtained incidentally through console purchases.  They should be counted as they are games in peoples hands, but they should NOT be used as a major reflection of that title's popularity, or to predict sales of future installments of those games.

Given the state of the economy and the cost of these consoles, there could quite literally be 10 people in Europe that fall under the dual-console model you described.

It has 70k preorders in America, so I'd guess about 300k first week there. 150k in Others.

No, this is a huge problem. You also have to factor in the amount of people who still want to get a PS3 and are now saving up for it. Games being released on other platforms and the current state of the economy. I also like to point out again that piracy is huge in Europe and that it directly affects sales here. Out of all the people I know with a 360 most of them have a modded 360 and are playing live btw. I also checked the biggest community site in my country (hyves, kinda like facebook) and checked the 360 page and modding consoles was openly discussed there.

I am just saying anything could happen and a known brand name isn't a definitive road to succes. Look at the sales of the latest Wolvenstein for example, that game flopped hard.

@lord flasheart: I know all of them then. Lol

PSN name: Gazz1979 (feel free to add me, but please put your Vgchartz name in the message!)

Battlefield 2: Gazz1979

If M$ advertises it well then we could see 600K sales for the first week and probably a 3M LTD sales without bundling. With bundling i would say 4M sales

Long Live SHIO!
