Gran Turismo 5 has been by far the best racing gaming we've ever encountered and we expect it to stay like that for a few more years. The graphics are unbelievable, gameplay is outstanding and you'll be shocked at how realistic it is. After seeing a few screenshots, it was hard to believe that we were looking at a video game.

#5 - The Past Of Gran Turismo

From the first Gran Turismo game released in 1997 with over 160 cars and Gran Turismo 2 released in 2000 with over 650 cars, we knew it was an amazing game that stood well out of the crowd, it wasn't your ordinary driving simulator. Gran Turismo 4 shocked us all with it's outstanding quality and gameplay. As of June 2008, Gran Turismo 4 has shipped 1.25 million copies in Japan, 2.93 million in North America, 5.85 million in Europe, 70,000 in Southeast Asia, and 80,000 in Korea. The anticipation of GT5 has been unbelievable. Knowing the past of the Gran Turismo series, we all know what to expect from their newest release on the Playstation 3.

#4 - The Introduction of The Damage System

We haven't really seen much of what Polyphony Digital has done with the damage and it really lacks so far but Polyphony Digital has asked gamers 'how far do you want it to go?' which obviously means they aren't done yet. We expect some serious carnage from the new damage system, maybe even cars blowing up? Combine this with the amazing graphics, 500X more cars than your house garage can fit and you got the best racing game ever made.

#3 - The Cars & Tracks 

1000+ cars and over 80 tracks, more cars than any other racing game made to date. We doubt any other racing game is going to beat these numbers for a long time. This shows how hard Polyphony Digital has been working on GT5, truly outstanding. Unlike most other racing games, you won't be stop playing GT5 for a long time. It should take at the least 5+ months to go through all the cars.

#2 - The Graphics

Seen the GT5 graphics yet? If you haven't, please take a look, this is stunning and it's off screen gameplay.

The Gran Turismo 5 graphics, in our opinion, are by far the best of any game to date, as we said above, when we first saw the screens, we couldn't believe it was a video game. This is pretty much the top reason why GT5 is the best racing game ever made.

#1 - Gameplay: The Combination of Pure Brilliance

Combine the beyond believe graphics, over 1000 cars, 80 tracks, the new damage system and how realistic GT5 is and you have one heck of a game. GT5 gameplay will be top notch, harder to beat than any other racing game ever made. We are saying this from gameplay videos but if you have been lucky enough to try it out for yourself, you'll know what we mean. GT5 has a reason for being one of the most anticipated games of the decade. GT5 is by a country mile the best racing game EVER made.

Next time, u wait, AT LEAST, TGS annoucement before making such a claim ...

We have seen nothing from GT5 (close to nothing), we know nothing about the solo or the online game, we know nothing about the final damage, night day cycle, or even weather. In a way, we are not 100% sure it will be released this year (well I m 99,999% sure but still, there is no official announcement !)

And, as if it was not enought, there is a BIG game, FM3, that will also be released this year and that seem to, overall, in the same league than GT5 !!!

So, plz, WAIT TRUE NEWS at TGS !!!

The best racing game is Mario Kart Wii. 15 Million  17.3 Million sales and counting fast, GT5 won't beat that.

It can be though, the best driving simulator, if so, I agree with you :P

Oh come on, there are better shots for both Forza 3 and GT5 that look better than this... you can't say that this is photo-realistic (or even close) look at the bottom right hand corner and the car itself.

I'm going to say based upon history alone, GT5 will be an amazing game.

Whether it'll be the best (imo it will be, but I'm not willing to state it as fact just yet) or not, will be determined at a later date.

I would not be too excited about GT5 with regards to the cars and track list. Think about it, how many of those cars would have appeared in GT4 and how many would be redeco's of cars that have appeared in previous games. I'd say the number of unique cars would be closer to 250-300, which would be about the same as Forza 3. Also with the track list, likely that 30+ tracks we would have seen before and don't forget many of them would be the shortened or longer version of the same location, not to mention rally locations and whether they count reverse as a different track. Both of those apply to Forza 3 as well, but let's not be deceived by PR numbers.

My only concern is car damage. The AI in gt5 will have to be really good in order to not frustrate players. I was glad that there was no Damage in GT4 because I didn't want to lose anything off the car just because I was getting shoved out by a AI car trying to get back on it's pre-determined racing line.

(on a site, my favorite french website made a "top most awaited games" and GT5 was 6 and Forza3 was 5 (well Unchartred 2 was 1)

For the moment, it is enought close to call it a draw between the 2 games

Yes GT5 has a WW brand name incredibily powerfull

but Forza3 is on Xbox360, Xbox360 owners are hardcore gamers that will buy the game if it is good !!

look how big the Forza3 thread is right now (well T10 has also released so much screenshot and videos this summer ...)

+ massive MS marketing + no GT5 released yet + low Xbox360 entry price   = BIG SALES !!!!!!!!!!!

but for many GT fans is the damage a minus...like for me...if u cant take the damage off this will be a big problem for so many people...maybe even a no buy reason!
