Have to say I really like this new design :)

Cool.  Though I think I'll be waiting for whatever comes after this as I have two 4870s at the moment.

Official roadmap has been posted. And official performance numbers too.

5870 is 50% faster than the GTX285 on average, and on par with the GTX295.

September - Cypress, 5850 and 5870, at $250 - $350

Q4 '09 - Hemlock (5870 X2) at $400-$500; Juniper (midrange, think 56xx) at $150 to $200

Q1 '10 - Redwood and Cedar, think 53xx or 54xx, sub-$100

Nvidia's really going to feel it this holiday...my god. Selling GTX 295 at <$350 has got to hurt!

Yeah, the 1600sp is pretty concrete. And the fact that both the '5850' and '5870' (names not confirmed, this is known only as Cypress right now) will have over 2TFlops. Which should place them around the 4870 X2, although the source that said 1600sp said it would compete with the GTX295.

Nvidia has nothing to compete with the X2 part of this, their own roadmaps show the 'GT300' in Spring. They will be competing using GT200 rebrands to the "300 series" (confirmed, check their driver files).

Rumoured price is either $299 or $399; one of the cards (50 or 70) will be $299 at least due to an accidental contest notice offering it as a prize. Launch date is, uh, tomorrow.

Actually the cards you are calling rebrands aren't rebrands. They are their new architecture with a ton of stuff disabled.

Tease.

ATI has powerful fan. I turn fan speed up to 30% to keep my 4870 cools down.

First reviews are out, and yeah, it spanks the GTX285 around the park and in a few games it beats the GTX295. Lower power use too. nVidia better start slashing prices otherwise they'll end up in a lot of hurt I think.

i LOVE ATI and AMD!

Long Live SHIO!

awesome.. when can we expect a mobo part for the same?
